Atherton Plaza Long Beach Condos

Long Beach, California has a lot of different neighborhoods to choose from that offer a wide range of amenities.  For those who don't need to be right on the beach then areas like the Circle Area is a great place to look as it's ideally located just south of the 405 freeway near the N Lakewood Blvd exit.  This is where you will find the condos of Atherton Plaza located at 5001 E Atherton Street.  This an iconic complex for this area with condos built in 1979 with two to three bedroom floor plans to choose from.  Over the years these were commonly priced in the $300,000 to $400,000 range and it was only since 2020 that real estate prices really jumped up to the mid $600,000 range.  This was in fact due to low inventory of housing coupled with low interest rates.  In 2023, the market has shifted a little but prices are still remaining strong since we still have low inventory of housing.

There is one Atherton Plaza condo on the market for sale now that is listed for $645,000.  Unit #406 features two bedrooms, two baths with an approximate 1,349 square feet.  It's really hard to beat the location as it's located on the top penthouse level and a desirable end unit position.  What I love about these condos is the simple yet open floor plan that often combines the living room, dining and kitchen spaces.  I also love the large outdoor decks that can be found in many of these units which really give the illusion of additional living space.  There is a nice community pool, spa and underground parking for residents to utilize.  These of course are included in the monthly homeowners association dues which currently run $500.00 a month.  There is even a bonus recreation room and storage area facility as well as a welcoming front lobby area where all of the mailboxes are located.  If you are in the market to buy a condo in the mid $600,000 range then these condos are definitely worth a look.  Below is a sales chart that has shows the sale history over the years according to our Multiple Listing service.  The "S" stands for properties that have sold with the sales date at the far right hand side.
