Long Beach Homes with a High Walk Score

Having a high walk score has become one of the latest shopping items when looking for a home or condo in the Long Beach area.  What exactly is a walk score?  Well think about it this way, having a high walk score means that you have many local amenities that are within walking distance from you home or condo.  Places like restaurants, grocery stores, movie theater, retail shopping stores are all within a short distance from your place of residence.  The higher the score the closer these places are to the place where you live.  Scores go up to a 100 so if you see a score of 95 then you know that you have picked a place that offers a lot of places close by.

Long Beach, California is a very big beach town with a lot of different areas so not all neighborhoods will offer a high walk score.  Knowing where to look is the key when considering buying in the Long Beach area.  There are some really great areas of Long Beach that can be located near the water and Marina while other areas can be less desirable to certain real estate buyers.  The biggest concentration of homes and condos that have a high walk score would be in the downtown Long Beach area.  There is a high concentration of residential condos in this area as well as some really great restaurants and shopping in this immediate area.  Many of our clients love living here as they can walk to almost any amenity they are looking for.  Another great place would be near the Marina in communities like Marina Pacifica and Naples Island.  This is such a beautiful area with many amenities within walking distance.  Neighborhoods outside of these two areas like the historic Wrigley and Zafaria business district have walk scores in the mid 70's.  To learn more about the various Long Beach neighborhoods and where to buy please contact any of our local real estate agents at 562-355-8228.
