The one thing I love about the Long Beach area is it's unique mid-century modern homes that were designed by a variety of famous architects.  These include Cliff May designed homes as well as a newly listed home designed by Paul Tay.  The four bedroom home built in 1958 is located in the Alamitos Heights area of Long Beach, California and is very impressive.   The house has a lot to offer and comes with it's own guest house, a 4 car garage and updated kitchen area.  Select interior rooms have wonderful high vaulted wood beam ceilings with floor to ceiling glass to take in the views.   A wonderful and cozy living room with a fireplace accented by high ceilings as well.  There is an extensive use of wood use throughout the house that can often be seen on

Located in the Lakewood Plaza area of Long Beach is a wonderful neighborhood known as Rancho Estates.  These are beautiful mid-century modern style homes that date back to the 1950's.  One of the most famous architect that originally designed and built these homes was Cliff May.  Many of the homes advertised for sale will clearly state that the homes are Cliff May homes due to the unique open floor plans and distinctive architectural designs.  The homes often offer similar traits with one story floor plans, pitched roofs that offer wonderful cathedral ceilings, large picture windows and outdoor spaces that have the feel of an extension of the house.  This style is very familiar with Eichler designed homes that were mainly built in the early 1960's.
