The Windward Village community is breaking ground as it's in the midst of converting manufactured homes into a planned unit development of single family homes. Condo conversions are very common as owners will take a duplex or multi-unit building and turn them into individual condos. The same kind of conversion is happening here except the manufactured homes are being converted into single family homes. The concept seemed a little foreign to us but there have been over 90 homes that have already been converted over. The location is really ideal for those commuting to work outside the area as the neighborhood is ideally located near the 405 and 710 freeways. This is one of the most northern parts of Long Beach and located near the Bixby Knolls and Signal Hill area.
