Rose Park Historic District Homes

Rose Park historic homes in Long Beach, California are rich in history and date back to the early 1900's.  In fact, the earliest home that we have seen come on the market in the Rose Park area was built in 1900 and located at 621 Molino Avenue in Long Beach.  The location of the community is ideally situated just minutes to the beach and near other historic districts like Bluff Heights, Carrol Park, Belmont Heights, Belmont Shore and Bluff Park.  Many love the homes located here that tend to be single level and average between 1,500 to 2,000 square feet of living space.  On any given year there is roughly 30 to 40 homes that come on the market here that are often priced in the mid $600,000 to $700,000 range for a detached single family home.

Some of the older homes in this area may be eligible for the Federal Mills Act program which is a huge selling point as it's gives current homeowners a reduction on property taxes.  This is one of the first things we look for when looking at historic properties since the tax rate in California tends to be very high at 1% of the purchase price not including city taxes.  Any reduction in taxes is very welcome and we highly recommend inquiring about this with the current owner.  Most homes built before 1950 may be eligible.

Rose Park is well known for having a high walk score as many local amenities are located nearby.  Many take there bikes down to the beach which tends to less than one mile away.  The most common architectural style found here is the Bungalow style home that often features a small front porch and lots of charm.  For additional information on buying a home in the Rose Park area please contact any of our Long Beach Real Estate associates at 562-355-8228.
